| “ | Älgarnas Trädgård (Garden of the Elks) existed between 1969-76. They were part of the progressive music movement of that period. They played at alternative festivals and free music forums. In 1971, their first album "Framtiden är ett svävande skepp förankrat i forntiden" (The future is a hovering ship anchored in the past) was released (on CD in 1995). This, their first album, was an experiment in using the studio as an instrument, differently from how they sounded live, with their floating extended improvisations. Two years of touring made a change in how the group sounded. The music was more structured and heavier. A second album was recorded 1973 - 1974. But, because of musical differencies, these recordings were never mixed or released. The original group split. This is - with a 27-year delay - finally the mix, with the intention of keeping it sound the way it was intended to in the first place. Here it is, the unreleased "second album". | ” |
